Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse

Xbox 360

2012

About

This game acts as a sequel to one of those shows episodes, "Road to the Multiverse". The game follows the same theme as the episode with Brain and Stewie traveling to alternate realities. This game features a campaign and a enemy wave mode resembling Call of Duty Zombies, strangely enough the game uses other Call of Duty assets such as the Airport layout from Modern Warfare 2.

Explanation

As a huge Family Guy fan I absolutely adored this game. It is clear that the developers cared about the I.P. as the writers from the show helped create this game and the voice actors returned to reprise their roles. Game play is at time shallow and representative but is made up for with it's jokes and short playtime, clocking in at less than five hours.

Wheel of Fortune

PlayStation 4

2020

About

Wheel of Fortune the game follows the exact same premise as it's game show counter-part. Spin the wheel and solve the puzzle, the game is easy to pick up but hard to master. Turning it into a video game finally lets the audience get in on the fun.

Explanation

Me and some close friends bought this on a whim, and we actually turned out to enjoy playing this game. This game tests your ability to think, which turns out is more enjoyable than it sounds. This game is easy to get my family involved in too, as everyone knows Wheel of Fortune, and understands how to play with no explanation needed. It even became a tradition for a little bit for my family to play this game on the holiday's.

Wipeout The Game

Wii

2010

About

Wipeout The Game is the first of three numbered Wipeout games to coincide with the television show of the same name. The aim of the game is to make it through a three part extreme obstacle course, with players starting in a basic yet intense warm up one, then moving to what can be best described as extreme jump rope, and finally ending at the final course, a more intense difficult of the first.

Explanation

Wipeout is another one of my favorite television shows so of course I had to have the game. People falling and getting hurt on TV is funny and that translates really well into video games. As far as game play goes it's basically just worse Mario, but if you're playing multiplayer your enemies can throw stuff at you from the sidelines. Also they somehow got the show narrators to do voice work in the game, which did significantly boost the quality of the game.
