Game of the Year

"Game of the Year" is a title that is awarded to only one game per year.

This page features my personal game of the year from 1985-2024.

1985-1989

The late 80's marked a return for the video game market in North America following the markets crash. The return of video games in North America easily allowed for Nintendo to establish itself and become house hold staple.

1990-1999

The 90's saw the rise of both 16 bit and 3D graphics, and finally allowed for true competition in the market, with Nintendo and Sega competing in the early 90's and PlayStation's eventual domination of the 3D gaming world nearing the end of the century.

2000-2009

This decade standardized what both 3D and portable gaming should be while also paving the way for more modern features such as virtual store fronts and Online play.

2010-2019

Possibly the greatest decade in gaming history, it seemed like every week had a new game worth discussing. This decade features many of my favorite games of all time, but most notably my three favorite games of all time.

2020-2024

This decade is only halfway through and yet we've already seen some of the greatest titles to ever release, with only more to come.
